Brief Biographical Information for Jennifer Christian MD MPH FACOEM

Jennifer Christian, MD, MPH is an internationally-known thought leader and advocate for improving health and functional outcomes and for preventing needless work disability in healthcare, workers’ compensation, and disability benefits systems.

Dr. Christian is President of Webility Corporation, which has conducted a wide range of management consulting and training projects with clients in several sectors: healthcare delivery organizations, managed care companies, large and small employers, workers’ compensation insurers, disability insurers, state funds and other governmental agencies, including the US Social Security Administration.  She came up with the idea of the Praxis Partners Consortium as a way to integrate and create synergy among many important relationships and concepts developed while working with organizations and individuals in every aspect of these benefit systems – for mutual and manifold benefits.

Dr. Christian has run the multi-disciplinary Work Fitness & Disability Roundtable (a free list-serv) since its founding in 2001.  She also chairs the Work Fitness & Disability Section of the American College of Occupational & Environmental Medicine (www.acoem.com).  She previously founded and chaired tthe 60 Summits Project, a multi-stakeholder social change initiative to propagate the work disability prevention model across North America.  Webility now offers a new service she has developed: Maze-Masters, an innovative self-care and self-development program aimed at helping individuals who are "lost in the maze" of the healthcare, workers' compensation or disability benefits systems to get their lives onto a better track.  She has won four awards for her work in these areas.

Dr. Christian is board-certified in occupational medicine and earned both her medical and public health degrees from the University of Washington in Seattle.
