Topic:

Work Disability Prevention Rounds: "Your Role as Designated Guesser: What Can This Patient Do at Work Now?"

Many doctors simply make wild guesses when asked to estimate a patient's work capacity and match it up with job demands - because they don't know what else to do. Mental fitness for duty is particularly problematic. This session will review "bedside" testing methods you can use in your office and describe helpful tests you can order that will give you more detailed information. You will also learn how to select the professionals who perform this testing, how to interpret test results and how to match them up with job descriptions.
